Faith Formation & Fellowship

Centering Prayer | Mondays at noon in the sanctuary

The UniLu sanctuary is open Mondays at noon during the academic year for centering prayer and midday devotions, often with a visual component. Take a 20-minute break from the busy beginning of the week to catch your breath and join us in prayer, together in person in the UniLu sanctuary.

Lunch & Learn | Mondays at 12:30pm on Zoom

This summer over your lunch break all are invited to join us on Zoom Mondays at 12:30pm for a spiritual formation opportunity. We will read through a great new resource from Hanna Reichel, “For Such a Time as This: An Emergency Devotional.” Hanna Reichel is the Charles Hodge Professor of Systematic Theology at Princeton Theological Seminary and a ruler elder in the PC(USA). Their academic honors include the Lautenschlaeger Aware for Theological Promise and the Ernst Wolf Aware. Each week we will read a chapter from the e-book and discuss it together. The book can be purchased here, but it will not be necessary to be part of the discussion. All are welcome. Click here to join the Zoom room.

Campus Ministry Bible Study | Wednesdays at 6:30pm on campus

Each week after our Campus Ministry Dinner in collaboration with the Christian Association at Penn all are invited to stay for bible study and discussion. Our diverse community approaches the bible, theology, and church history from all different perspectives. Some have been part of the church their whole life and for some it is all new, some approach it with a sense of skepticism and others a sense of curiosity. Wherever you are on your faith journey, this is a safe space to raise questions and wrestle with doubt (after all - that itself is biblical!). All students of all our Philadelphia campuses are welcome to join us Wednesdays at 6:30pm during the academic year.

Congregational Bible Study | Thursdays at 3pm on Zoom

Each Thursday at 3pm we gather on Zoom for Bible Study. This season we have been exploring the book of Acts, traveling chapter by chapter as we learn about the Holy Spirit at work in the early church. Having read about the early apostles, next we will dive into one of their own words and works in the Letter of Romans.

Advent and Lenten Vespers | Thursday evenings on Zoom

During the seasons of Advent and Lent, UniLu gathers Thursday evenings on Zoom for Evening Prayer, scripture reading, and the spiritual practice of visio divina.

Second Sundays | following worship

Every second Sunday of the month throughout the year, the young adults and students of our congregation gather after worship and head to a local restaurant for snacks, coffee, and conversation. It is a casual space to share highs and lows of the last month, to get to know one another better, and to support one another.
